The Westport CT Optimism Walk benefiting the Connecticut Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Sherwood Island State Park.
- Check-in at 10:00 am
- Walk at 11:00 am
All net proceeds from the walk will help APDA provide programs and services to the CT Parkinson's community, as well as fund critical research that will lead to better treatments and a cure. APDA provides more than 30 support groups, activity classes designed for people with PD (yoga, dancing, boxing, etc.), educational programs, community grants, and more, all at little or no cost to participants

What is an Optimism Walk?
- The Westport CT Optimism Walk is a fun, family-friendly event that features a 1.5 mile paved walk, entertainment, refreshments, and more. It is a day of strength, hope and unity.
- Participants may walk as much or as little as they would like.
- The walk route is wheelchair accessible.
Why Walk?
- There are an estimated 1 million people in the US living with Parkinson’s disease and more than 10 million people worldwide.
- Every 6 minutes someone is diagnosed with Parkinson's in the US.
- The funds will directly benefit the CT Parkinson’s community!
