Description

Please join Wilton Library for a lively, mouthwatering Author Talk with  Chef Alison Milwe Grace , a lifelong Connecticut resident and the owner of AMG Catering and Events, on Tuesday, June 10. Alison will be in conversation about her debut cookbook Savor: Recipes to Celebrate, with blogger Susy Hayes Jones.

Savor is a carefully curated collection of Alison's favorite recipes, themed classes, and menus for enthusiastic home cooks to create festive gatherings for friends and family. "Spepper," Alison's perfectly balanced seasoning mixture of three parts coarse kosher salt to one part freshly ground black pepper, has become her trademark and is fundamental to her simple, celebratory recipes. "Every day could and should be treated like a special occasion - a reason to celebrate another day of living," she says, "and what better way to bring people together than with food?"

Chef Alison Milwe Grace grew up in Westport, CT, where she began her lifelong love affair with food and cooking. After working in restaurants throughout her college years at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst Hotel & Restaurant School, she attended the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in New York City where she earned a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts and a certificate in French Cooking Technique. She went on to enjoy a successful run as Executive Chef at an award-winning Fairfield County restaurant, before starting her own catering company.

In addition to teaching adults in her Wilton, CT catering kitchen, Alison is the Culinary Arts teacher at Staples High School in Westport, CT. She is the recipient of a James Beard Scholarship, and has appeared on the Food Network's Kitchen Casino and Supermarket Stakeout. She currently lives in Weston with her husband, three children and two rescue dogs.

Susy Hayes Jones   is the creator and host of The Hayes' Pages Literary Salon Series. Growing up with a mother who was an author, Susy's passion for reading and literature was nurtured from an early age. She established Hayes' Pages (@hayespages) in 2023 to share her love of books and to champion authors, libraries, and independent bookstores. As the host of a unique salon style series, she hopes to connect authors and readers in meaningful ways around stories and "beyond the page." She lives in Southport, CT with her husband, sons and two Golden Retrievers.

Alison Milwe Grace will sell and sign copies of Savor after the program.

Registration is required. Register online at www.wiltonlibrary.org or call (203) 762-6334.
