Origins and Originals Concert with Russell Fisher at the Carriage Barn Arts Center

 Join us Sunday, Sept. 29 at 4pm for an eclectic and stimulating concert with classical/contemporary percussionist  Russell Fisher ,  while enjoying the backdrop of artwork from the Annual Member Show.

Fisher will perform “Origins & Originals,” a mix of acoustic and electro-acoustic works for marimba, vibraphone and steelpan. Featuring music that contributes to the construction of one’s identity from both the past and present, selections range from J.S. Bach, Louis Armstrong, the Beatles and Steve Reich to emerging composers like Sophia Jani and Liam Teague.

An active member of the booming steel pan scene, Fisher has performed in Panorama competitions with both Crossfire Steel Orchestra and CASYM Steel Orchestra. It has been his personal mission to continue to commission and perform new works for steel pan.

Advance tickets are $25, or $15 for ages 16 & under. 

​

Performance is approximately one hour.
