Westport Country Playhouse presents a Script in Hand playreading of "The Shark Is Broken" on Mon., June 9, at 7 p.m.

The Shark Is Broken  is a witty and revealing behind-the-scenes look at the making of Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic, Jaws—the film that defied expectations to become one of the greatest movies of all time.

Stranded on a boat, three legendary actors—Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, and Roy Scheider—grapple with long delays, cramped quarters, and clashing personalities as they wait for their famously unreliable mechanical shark to work. Based on real events and co-written by Ian Shaw, the son of Robert Shaw , this critically acclaimed play takes audiences into the tense, hilarious, and unexpectedly heartfelt moments when the camera wasn’t rolling. With razor-sharp dialogue and a deep dive into the egos, anxieties, and friendships that shaped Jaws,  The Shark Is Broken  is a must-see for movie lovers and theatergoers alike.
