The Andes: Music of the Mountains
Join us for INTEMPO’s annual Cultural Crossover Concert, celebrating The Andes: Music of the Mountains, in partnership with the Norwalk Youth Symphony. Over 100 young musicians will perform traditional Andean music in a symphonic celebration, with Geo Suquillo, our lead teaching artist. Hailing from Ecuador, Geo began his musical studies at the age of 12, learning Andean instruments, such as the zampoñas, quenas, and charango, before delving into flamenco guitar. His fusion ensemble, Inti and the Moon, was recognized as one of “The Latinx Artists We Loved” by NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest in 2018.
