Description
Efforts to ban alcohol began in the 1700s. By 1919, Connecticut was one of two states that voted against Prohibition. In conjunction with the Museum's exhibit Building an American Voice, Walt Matis of the Fairfield Museum & History Center will explore Fairfield & Bridgeport during the Prohibition era and the moments that led to the 18th amendment which prohibited the sale or manufacture of "intoxicating beverages" in the U.S.
Please join Fairfield Public Library for this fascinating lecture.
