Young Jazz Artist Month closes out at Jazz at the Post with Fime Ephron and the First Night Band

Fima Ephron and The First Light Band is a group of musicians committed to exploring the ideas of group improvisation in the context of arranged song forms. Harmony, groove and melody combine to create a jumping off point for the music to unfold. Some of the many artists that I have worked with include Screaming Headless Torsos, Lost Tribe, Walter Becker, David Torn, Gil Scott Heron, Natalie Merchant, Meshell n'degeocello, Hasidic New Wave, David Fiuczynski/John Medeski's 'Lunar Crush, DreamTime, Yeoffi, Jeb Loi Nichols, Nate Smith and Kinfolk. I have released a record titled "soul machine" for the tzadik label, an independent release titled "quiet city" and a recording titled“ Songs From The Tree” on the Ropeadope label.
