Description

This session will be focused on how to optimize your existing yard space for small scale production and micro farming. We will look at the economics of yard versus productive gardens, how to decide what to grow, and how to start a micro farm in your own backyard.

You will learn about:

• Flower vs Vegetable Gardening - Pros and Cons Permaculture Design and perennial planting

• Natural vs Crafted garden design layouts for cut flower business

• Design and build of raised bed gardens

• Critters, pests and hazards

• Fencing, companions and natural deterrents

Presenter: Asha Yoganandan

Asha is the founder of NOURISHED Gardens + Greenspaces, an Exterior Design & Build firm. She is self taught multi-concept designer with a background in Engineering and Business Management. She brings her combined experiences in design, financial services, people and project management to create beauty for any budget.
